some studio work
Monday 3rd September
Circumstances dictated that rather than a walk , my photography was confined to my make-shift studio.....otherwise known as the spare bedroom.
I have various options and chose to take some shots of flowers against a black velvet backdrop.
The backdrop is made from a sheet of black velvet hung over a curtain rail. Flowers were positioned in florist's foam on a small table. My camera, Nikon D810 fitted with a 105 mm macro lens and seated on a tripod. On this occasion I used a small Nikon Speedlight flash unit. I tend to use my camera on Manual .....so with the flash sit fitted I set shutter speed at 250 and the aperture at anything from f22 to f8 depending on the result.
The flowers.....some from the garden and a rather lovely dahlia I bought in the village.
I have recently bought myself an L bracket which enables me to switch from shooting landscape to portrait quickly and easily......don't know why I have waited so long to get one of these.
So, here are some of the results.....
