Wengen

Tuesday 19.6.18

Another gloriously sunny day. Full sun and 26C.
The plan was walk the Mannlichen Trail, a fabulous high alpine track that takes you on an easy hike from Mannlichen to Kleine Scheidegg.....roughly an hour and a half with no stops. Kleine Scheidegg is a busy hub. There are restaurants, a couple of hotels and trains leading down to Gridelwald or Wengen and up to the Jungfraujoch ( Europe's highest railway station). There are also walking trails down to Wengen and Grindelwald

Mannlichen stands at 2222m and is reached by the cable car from the centre of Wengen.
The walk from Mannlichen faces the Tiger, Monch and Jungfrau and the views extend down to Grindelwald and the Wetterhorn.
Although the trail is wide and easy and there are lots of people about, the views are exceptional and the flowers are superb. We have trecked this way on wet and cloudy days but today the weather was perfect and the views literally breathtaking.
